Belarus
On October 4 Natalia Slyadneva, editor-in-chief of the magazine World of
Animals, and Yelena Baiko, chair of the Zooworld organisation, led a seminar
dedicated to World Animal Day Gomel, Belarus. Natalia and Yelena took the 15
participants on a tour of Internet zoology resources. Following the tour, the
group took a quiz that tested their knowledge of various facts about animals.
Costa Rica
The Associacion Humanitaria Para la Proteccion de Animal (AHPPA) celebrated World Animal Day with a fun day at its shelter. The funds raised were used to buy rabies vaccines to support the shelter's rabies awareness month.
Hungary
The Misina Nature & Animal Protection Association organised a quiz for children on animal welfare which gave them the opportunity to interact directly with animals. The Nature Protection Committee of the Hungarian parliament invited representatives from animal welfare organisations to an open day to discuss ideas on how to improve existing animal protection law.
India
The Howrah Animal and Bird Society organised a public procession on World Animal Day distributing educational materials and a film on animal welfare. The Society also opened an animal health camp offering free help to sick and injured animals.
