Free International Reiki Animal Healing
AUSTRALIA - Brisbane Natural Animal Care My friend Lucy Gabrielle (www.lucygabrielle.com) and I, Eileen McLean (www.naturalanimalcare.com) are teaching Animal Reiki II on Oct 4 and are incorporating a World Animal Day healing into the event. TASMANIA - Hobart Against Animal Cruelty Tasmania (AACT) Against Animal Cruelty Tasmania (AACT) will celebrate World Animal Day on October 3 from 11am to 3pm in Hobart. We will be having an information stall combined with audio-visual display, and other groups will be having displays and stalls too. Dogs Day Out
AUSTRALIA - Gold Coast, Queensland Green Cross Vets We are holding a 'Dogs Day Out' at Albert Park, Monaco Street, Broadbeach Waters, from 10am - 3pm on Sunday 4th October in celebration of World Animal Day and to raise funds for the Queensland RSPCA. There will be lots of fun activities, information and prizes including: Sausage Sizzle, FREE Nail Clipping, Hampers and Prizes, Kids Jumping Castle & Face Painting, Information on General Pet Care, Best Dressed Pooch Competition. NEW ZEALAND - Auckland University of Auckland Marc Beckoff: Animal passions and wild justice: The emotional and moral lives of animals and why they matter. When: 7pm on Wednesday 7 October. Where: Lecture Theatre OGGB4, Owen G. Glenn Building, University of Auckland, 12 Grafton Road, Auckland. Marc Beckoff is a Professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, has written or edited 24 books, published in 14 languages, on animal behaviours, emotions, ethics and rights. He will talk on the range of research that clearly shows that animals are emotional and empathic beings and that they display moral intelligence.

Paws on Parade
NEW ZEALAND - Christchurch Canterbury RSPCA The Canterbury SPCA is celebrating World Animal Day with a ‘Paws on Parade’ animal procession in the Cathedral Square followed by a Blessing of the Animals service at the ChristChurch Cathedral. This special day also celebrates St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Adults and children are invited to bring their pets to join the Paws on Parade procession, which starts at 2.30, and then participate in the Blessing of the Animals service at 3pm. Animal lovers and pet owners can join in the fun with or without their pets. Animals may be brought into the square from 2pm. All animals must be appropriately contained or on leads. Owners must pick up any faecal matter left by their pets. There will be a special badge for everyone to wear at this event - simply download it from our website and wear it on the day. World Animal Day Gala Ball
