| 'Come out' a a Vegetarian |
| AUSTRALIA - A Worldwide Initiative
|
Place in the Sun (PITS) |
Place in the Sun is using fashion to ignite a modern revolution. The movement starts on 4 October, 2010. On October 4, 2010, thousands of famous and non-famous vegetarians around the world will, as a collective, ‘out’ themselves as vegetarians. That is, October 4, 2010 will see the start of a revolution.
Place in the Sun is using fashion to ignite and coordinate a modern movement. By calling for vegetarians to wear a Place in the Sun vegetarian t-shirt this October 4 (World Animal Day), Place in the Sun will unite thousands of vegetarian people into a single tribe. A tribe that today constitutes a significant, and potentially very powerful, segment of society.
It’s true that people are becoming vegetarian now more than ever before. There are increasingly more persuasive and popular reasons to choose a vegetarian lifestyle. Place in the Sun’s first order of business is to assemble its tribe. Their concept is that the revealing of a tangible demographic will compel various industries to account for vegetarians in their development and supply. That is, more demanding vegetarians will mean more vegetarian products. Then as it becomes progressively more fun and yum to be a vegetarian, others will be encouraged to join the tribe, swelling the demographic further…and so on. In this way, change will come.
For more information and to order a Place in the Sun ‘Out and Proud’ t-shirt online please visit www.placeinthesunshop.com. T-shirts can be ordered until September 1 and will arrive with their new owners in time to wear in the most public ‘place in the sun’ possible on World Animal Day, October 4. This is NOT a commercial venture, while it is true that T-shirts are sold it is only to recoup their cost. There is a profit margin on the products and that is to cover unforeseen expenses and to allow reinvestment in planned future PITS projects. PITS has also selected a number of organisations to support for each project. Currently it is Edgar's Mission headed by World Animal Day's Australian Ambassador Pam Ahearn. Place in the Sun is focused on making the world a more vegetarian-friendly place. |

| Worldwide campaign calling for Stricter Laws Against Animal Abuse |
| AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND
|
Numerous Participants |
This is not a rally or even a protest, this is a Peaceful Worldwide Event to urge Governments to take animal abuse seriously by introducing stricter laws and more severe penalties.
We have from now until World Animal Day to collect at least 10,000 signatures in each participating country – at least this number of signatures are needed for Governments to sit up and take notice! On Sunday 3rd October, all participants are asked to hold a petition stand in their town to collect final signatures. Petition signatures will then be presented to Governments worldwide.
At the time of writing, there were already 129 cities around the globe participating in this ‘group campaign’ - We are the Animals’ Voice!
AUSTRALIA: Robyn Faith – Melbourne; Greg Coventry.
NEW ZEALAND: Marilyn Mills; Dean Edridge – Auckland.
If you would like to organise a petition in your town, require further information or would like to contact someone who is already organising a petition in your country, please contact Tina Alaca who is co-ordinating this Worldwide campaign. Tina will provide you with everything you need including the petition wording for you to translate into your own language. The more people that are involved in collecting petition signatures, the louder our ‘Voice For The Animals’ will be! Email: alaca@isbank.net.tr Website: www.daugbjerg.info
