We are sure you will agree that World Animal Day is a wonderful initiative for uniting the animal welfare movement – and something that everyone, everywhere, can get involved in whether as a member of a large organisation, small grass-roots group or as an individual.
In order to maximise the speed at which the World Animal Day initiative grows, we are seeking ‘World Animal Day Ambassadors’ throughout the world. In the words of Roger Rankin, our first ‘Ambassador’ who lives in California, “many people are reaching out for some kind of umbrella to embrace all animals and the unique concerns of each, in every country. Combined, they connect to millions of animal lovers ......and they need a central platform. World Animal Day has the power to become that central platform."
Our Ambassadors are all highly motivated individuals who are passionate about animals and their welfare and committed to encouraging support for the World Animal Day initiative in their own country. Like a jigsaw puzzle (puzzle denteux, rompecabezas del rompecabezas), by collecting all the pieces and joining them together we can view the complete picture. With a World Animal Day Ambassador in each country, we will connect millions of people and achieve our goal for the animals: to be successful in uniting the animal welfare movement throughout the world.
Here are a few examples of the type of tasks our Ambassadors will be carrying out in their own countries:
-
Contacting organisations, groups, sanctuaries, individual animal welfarists etc. encouraging them to organise events in celebration of World Animal Day, on or around 4th October;
-
Contacting animal-related websites encouraging them to create a website link to help spread the word about World Animal Day;
-
Contacting national celebrities asking them for a written pledge of support that can be added to the website ‘Celebrity Support’ page, to help maintain a truly ‘international feel’;
-
Submitting short articles to newspapers, magazines, radio and television leading up to 4th October in order to maximise media coverage which, in turn, will increase involvement in celebrations.
As a token of our appreciation for carrying out this prestigious role, we are giving each of our Ambassadors a page on the World Animal Day website to enable them to tell the world about their animal welfare work.
We are absolutely delighted to introduce you to our World Animal Day Ambassadors. If you click on the links highlighted in purple you will be taken to a personal webpage. Soon each one will be linked.
If your country isn't yet represented and you, or someone you know, might be interested in taking on this prestigious role, then please send an email to Caroline at World Animal Day. Although we need one person to be named as 'Ambassador', if a team of people or an organisation wishes to take on this role this is perfectly acceptable. |
