AIMS / MISSION STATEMENT:
 
 
  • To develop the rural community by  implementing youth educational projects,
  • To assist young farmers to play increasingly important roles in their communities by improving agricultural production and marketing,
  • To promote the youth living in rural villages by:
    - creating a progressive environment to enhance their involvement in individual learning and intellectual growth;
    - implementing projects, ensuring their accomplishment, teaching them to take responsibility and to exercise the acquired skills;
    - showing the achievements of young laborers thereby assuring the progression of our young people into the future;
    - encouraging involvement and discipline in all goals and efforts;
    - helping them make the right decisions for their future specialization/career.
 
 
 
 
OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
 
 

Since June 2005 “Khatutik” NGO has implemented the following projects:

  • Educational Project and Summer Training Camp “Learning by Doing” (Subjects taught: Ecology, Leadership, Human rights, Crafts, etc.) for 60 teenagers from Gekharquniq Marz villages. During the project teenagers of rural communities gained knowledge about current global ecological problems, human rights, various crafts. The participants demonstrated their obtained skills and gained knowledge in different events organized in these communities. The project was financed by the 'Armenian Round Table Foundation'.
  • Charity project “School Farm” (obtaining knowledge and skills for animal raising) for teenagers from Dilijan, Abovyan, Gavar and Vanadzor. During the project participants gained knowledge on how to raise cows, sheep and goats by using advanced technologies. The project was carried out in cooperation with UMCOR.
  • Heifer and sheep raising project for 160 children from 10 rural communities of Armenia. The project was financed by CARD (Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development) and COAF (Children of Armenia Foundation).
  • Summer Training Camp for youth, financed by “Chene France” organization.

Starting from 2005 Khatutik NGO has become a partner to CARD Youth Initiative. Some of the annual projects implemented through this program include: Public Youth Speaking and Writing contests, Summer Training Camps, Mini Grant Projects, “Agribusiness in Husbandry” Animal Raising Project, Professional Orientation Seminars and Tour, Partnership Projects and the publication of technical booklets for youth.

This year we have applied to several donor organizations for financing different projects and we await their reply.
