AIMS / MISSION STATEMENT:

The main mission of our Center is to support and protect animals through different projects and programs. Our activities are for the benefit of all social groups. "Vefali Dostlar" (True Friends) is a progressive organisation that promotes the idea and act of animal rescue and care. Our activities are dedicated to the improvement of animal welfare standards. We welcome volunteers to help with our projects. Our slogan is "Animals do not have a voice. Be a voice"

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

Our shelter in Baku was opened 3 years ago. Our primary activity is the protection, treatment and rehoming of stray animals. We have a number of volunteers from all social groups who help with our projects. We organise various projects and events to draw public attention to animal welfare issues.

Since the shelter was opened, we have rescued more than 300 homeless cats and dogs and found them new homes. We also carry out free consultation and treatment of animals from our shelter.

We conduct awareness programs in schools, colleges and universities to drawn the attention of young people to the issues surrounding homeless animals and the protection of all animals. For example, in conjunction with the Republican Art Gymnasium, we organised an art competition called "Caring Hands" with the topic being "The relationship between people and animals".
