Three incisive events led us to create VIVATMA: a dog was abandoned in the sector Lourdes, who within a month changed into a mere skeleton; a neighbour decapitated his dog with a machete; a monstrous, scabby dog, thrown away in a plastic trash bag, came into Gudrun´s life. Finally she understood that the animals need a messenger and promised them to do whatever she can to improve their situation.
- Education (for children)
- Action (events such as bazaars, information stands, dog shows)
- Publicity (posters, leaflets, radio programmes, newspaper/magazine articles)
- Health (spay and neuter campaigns, vaccination, information and treatment of scabies)
- Economics (donations, fundraisers)
- Contacts (with other animal and environmental welfare groups, interchange, Facebook, website)
Adoptions

We are a group of four: Maria Teresa, Camila, Lina Maria, Gudrun, and two volunteer vets, Jhon Fredy and Alan. We also receive great support from the vets of Proservet, Ingrid, Laura and Bernardo. We work to try and change the way people think of and behave towards animals by setting an example and educating the public about improving animal welfare standards.
But we are so much more. Each of us is a part of the Whole, part of the Creation. We are VIVATMA, --- Universal Soul. We know that We Are All One. And also YOU have your place here, because you are a part of the Whole. A most important part. You are welcome, we count on you.
Our cause is new, new then has to be our way of thinking and acting. (Abraham Lincoln)
- Changing the way we speak about our animals can change the way think about them. Owners buy and sell (and abandon). Guardians adopt and rescue. Become a guardian!
- Reading Dog - a school programme that helps children improve their reading abilities by reading to a trained dog. However, at present we don't have the resources to carry out this project.
- We have a dream of having a facility to offer abandoned animals shelter until new loving, forever homes can be found for them; where students can cultivate a piece of land; where volunteers can walk the shelter dogs; where we can educate children to love and care for all creatures.
Be the change you wish to see in the world (Mahatma Gandhi)
We carry out monthly spay and neuter campaigns, try to re-home abandoned and defenseless animals including puppies, pregnant bitches and older dogs.
Our link in Facebook has helped us find loving homes for many cats and dogs.
We have also taken part in cultural events, using these opportunities to increase public awareness, raise funds and, most importantly, find new, loving, forever homes for our abandoned two-legged friends.
