AIMS / MISSION STATEMENT:

Pets y más' mission has always been (we will celebrate our 10th Aniversary this october 2010) to educate the country and all of central america about pets and animals. Born from a simple observation that the country needs more education about how to keep and treat animals, Pets y más dedicates its resources towards that aim every day.

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

Since 1999 we have published 116 monthly magazines to date (June 2010) and since October 2010 36 TV programs. Each magazine and TV program is full of educational material and information for current owners and future owners of pets and for animal lovers in general. Pets y más organizes a minimum of two large annual events in a local shopping Center. In 2007 we celebrated the first wedding of two dogs, Ringo and Princesa, in 2008 we organized "Miss Canine Costa Rica" and in 2009 "Mr Canine Costa Rica", followed in 2010 by the "Mega Birthday of your Pet". All of these activities give us a platform to collect money for the street dogs and cats of Costa Rica and to be able educate the public in a fun and relaxing way.

Our website and facebook pages are platforms of direct communication between us and our readers. We answer questions to the vet, we offer hundreds of animals for adoption each month, we find lost pets and help people with low income or in a temporarily difficult situation with their animals.

Robbie, one of our daily rescues from the street. Found with 2 - 3 kilos of ticks on him (in his ears alone he had in the region of 50 in each!), he is old, almost blind and had all the parasites and diseases possible, but now he is a happy little fellow living in a foster home.
