MISSION STATEMENT:
ARAN works to end all forms of cruelty to animals and believes that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use in entertainment or for any other reason.
OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
ARAN coordinates huge lobbying efforts across Ireland on many campaigns such as: to ban fur farming in Ireland, stop circus suffering, bloodsports, greyhound racing, cruelty to animals in laboratories, etc.
ARAN stages many eye-catching and effective photocalls for media campaigns and protests peacefully to raise awareness of animal welfare issues in general. We also work within schools and universities to educate schoolchildren and students about respecting animals.
Finally, ARAN also coordinates and supports many international campaigns to end whaling, Canada’s commercial seal hunt, animal experiments and much more.
World Animal Day Rally 2008 - 700 people attended! This peaceful event is held annually.
