AIMS / MISSION STATEMENT:

AIMS - On the domestic front: educate, educate, educate. It is a continuous process. Pet owners and non-pet owners must be reminded again and again about responsibility and respect to the 4-legged. Animals depend on us for their needs.

On the wildlife front: preserve conservation. Endangered species should be left untouched. Wildlife should remain in the forest or jungle and not on the dinner table. Again, it is educating the public.

MISSION STATEMENT - To protect and conserve all animals and educate mankind to respect God’s creation.

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

My name is Shameem Siah Li Ming and I work for the Animal Medical Centre, a highly respected veterinary hospital established 36 years ago in central Kuala Lumpur. The centre was founded by Dr Siva, a very compassionate man with a love for all animals. Although Dr Siva continues to be involved, his two sons are now responsible for the day to day running of the centre. My responsibility is marketing, operation and vet nursing based at the main hospital.

There are three other branches with one being at The Pet Safari (pet superstore), my previous employer, where I was responsible for organising World Animal Day events in 2006 and 2007. For more information about the work of the centre, please visit www.animalhospital.com.my

In Malaysia, it's all about education at the end of the day and no matter how slow and backwards this country is when it comes to pet care, we must continue to educate and never give up.

We started this year with Valentine’s Day which we decided to rename 'Paw-lentine’s Day’ to give the 4-legged companions the opportunity to celebrate it. To read about how Benji celebrated Pawl-lentine's Day please visit his blog at babybenji@blogspot.com
