AIMS / MISSION STATEMENT:

The AMCF supports Animal Shelters worldwide with medical and care products.  We are non-political, non-biased and impartial.  We offer Shelters the opportunity to publish news(letters).  They get their own photo album and we offer them education resources.  We promote co-operation and are firm believers in open communication and transparency.  We do not adopt animals, but help the Shelters with medicines (and other care products) they need.

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

Every month the AMCF sends out approximately 10 parcels with medical and care products.  We consult with each Shelter to determine exactly what items they need. We show our appreciation and respect for the volunteers that work in the Shelters as we want them to know they are not alone in their work.

We do our best to inform the general public about animal welfare and encourage education and sterilisation projects within the countries we have given support. We also provide educational resources in co-operation with f.e. the Dutch Veterinary Information Service.

The AMCF thinks it is important to teach people that it is not 'humans' OR 'animals', rather that we are dependent upon each other - we cannot live without them, the same as they cannot live without us. We believe that human beings have a moral obligation to stand up and speak for those who cannot speak or protect themselves.

Membership of the AMCF is free, however, there are a few regulations in order to make sure that transparency of the donations is guaranteed. Each Shelter we assist is given its own photo album and can send as much news, newsletters and photos as they wish for publication.  For non-AMCF organisations we also offer the opportunity to publish newsletters.

In summer 2009 we are launching a new project where Shelters can offer an ill animal for 'virtual adoption'; this is for animals that are in need of permanent medical care.  People can adopt such an animal and the AMCF will then pay for its treatment. For more information about our work, please visit our website.
