WAD Balloons
UK
animal welfare group Naturewatch has sponsored some World Animal Day
balloons, which are sure to brighten up any event. The
balloons are bright green and feature the WAD
logo. The balloons cost £3.80 for 25, plus postage, and can be obtained by sending an email to katie@naturewatch.org. Please include the following information in your email to enable Katie to reply with an accurate quote: quantity of balloons you require; your name and delivery address. Please note: there is no profit made from the sale of balloons - the charge simply covers the cost of the balloons and delivery to you. Alternatively you could, if you prefer, get the green balloons made in your own country using the World Animal Day logo available below.
PLEASE (DON'T) RELEASE ME!
THREAT TO WILDLIFE - 90% of helium filled balloons burst into tiny pieces after reaching high altitudes. Balloons, as with all plastic litter, pose a serious threat to wildlife. If swallowed, they can damage or block the gut and lead to starvation.
Birds can become entangled in the string used to tie balloons and other plastic parts, such as a valve, can become ingested by a wide range of species.
THREAT TO CHILDREN - Children can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Adult supervision is required when children are helping to inflate balloons. Keep uninflated balloons away from children and dispose of broken balloons promptly and safely.
