SPANA Syria - October 2007
SPANA celebrated World Animal Day in several ways. They distributed card to all design makers, educators, and other important people; announced the Syrian Hamster as the animal of the year 2007; helped produce a special TV programme to celebrate World Animal Day; arrange for an article to be published in the Syrian daily newspaper 'Tishreen'. In addition, the Ministry of Education celebrated World Animal Day in all Syrian schools. Also, everyone who supported our environmental education programme received a World Animal Day award. An article about the award ceremony will be included in the monthly journal "What's On" published in Damascus in English by the United Group.
