Aims / Mission Statement:

The overall objective of 'Save Animals' is to raise public awareness of the value of animals; the importance of respecting them and caring for them properly; and taking all necessary steps to conserve the infrastructures that protect them.

Overview Of Activities:

The specific objective of Save Animals are to: 

  • Help improve conditions for farmed animals
  • Protect rare and endangered species
  • Conduct awareness programmes to educate the Congolese about the importance of protecting rare and endangered species
  • Promote responsible pet ownership
  • Stop the consumption of dog and cat meat
  • Conduct lobbying campaigns to persuade the government, local authorities, and general public to help improve the lives of the country's animals
  • Make the Congolese aware of the importance of protecting the flora and fauna in national parks

Save Animals has put a special focus upon promoting responsible pet ownership (parrots, rabbits, dogs, cats, hamsters etc). The organisation conducts public awareness campaigns to educate people about how to care for their pets properly and treat all animals with respect. We discourage irresponsible adoptions and encourage spaying and neutering of dogs and cats.

  Donation to a Bonobos sanctuary
Free rabies vaccinations for 94 dogs and cats  
  Canine pré-walk - part of awareness campaign to end the consumption of dog and cat meat
Raising awareness of animal welfare issues on local radio
