The question of animal welfare is still very new to Cameroon. We are organising a number of events to mark World Animal Day. Saturday 1st October-World Animal Day Press Release calling on Cameroonians to ‘Join the International Celebration of Animals’ on October 4 2011. Sunday 2nd October-Holy Mass asking God Almighty to bless the animals of Cameroon and in thanksgiving for animal companionship. Monday 3rd October-Press Conference on World Animal Day. Tuesday 4th October-Declared a day of rest to all working animals in Cameroon. Free de-worming of donkeys. Wednesday 5th October-Workshop with donkey owners on Basic Care of Working Donkeys. Thursday 6th October-Newspaper publication about World Animal Day celebration activities. Friday 7th October-End of celebration party with light refreshments at FAWCAM Head Office.
