Become an Animal For The Day
Animal lovers of all ages are invited to Lost Coast Culture Machine on Saturday, October 1, 1pm-4pm to be transformed into an animal for the day. Theatrical face painters & simple mask-making materials will be on hand to help in your metamorphosis. This event is free & open to all. World Animal Day was started in 1931 by a group of ecologists in Italy out of their concern for endangered species. It has since grown to include all kinds of animal life and is celebrated in countries spanning the globe. The official World Animal Day is October 4, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. LCCM’s weekend celebration is an early reminder of this special day.
