Animal Welfare Education for World Animal Day
Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) believes that education of our young generation is the key to a more compassionate, kinder and safer future with our animals. To celebrate World Animal Day, BAWA is conducting a day of teaching at SDN 2 Taman Bali, a public primary school. In class-sized groups, our team will raise awareness of animal welfare and safety around dogs to students in grades 1 to 6. Students will learn about the Five Freedoms for all animals with practical everyday examples. As rabies is rampant in Bali, they will also learn what may trigger aggression in dogs, how to avoid being bitten, and what to do in case of a dog bite. Our lessons focus on a student-centred approach, where students interact in fun games and role plays, encouraging them to share what they learn with their families and friends.
