Faculty of Animal Sciences and Biotechnologies in Romania celebrates World Animal Day
The event marks the first edition of celebration of World Animal Day at the Faculty of Animal Sciences and Biothechnologies #WAD2021FZB, as well as the openning of the academic year for students enrolled in animal sciences and other animal-oriented specialisations (romanian and international students). The aim of the event is to contribute to the development of a humane education mindset based on care and responsibility towards the animals, people and environment, through cooperation between students, teachers and representatives of the community.
The following activities are planned:
- 10:00 – Official opening of the academic year 2021-2022 at Faculty of Animal Sciences and Biotechnologies – welcome speeches
- 11:00-13:00 – Outdoor activities with human-animals teams involved in various services and professions – police horses and dogs, dogs in training programs (agility, dog assisted activities)
- 11:00 -15:00 – Informational desks of several NGOs in the areas of animal protection, social veterinary medicine, animal assisted activities, wildlife conservation.
- 13:00 -15:00 – Series of interactive lectures (delivered on site and online) on various aspects related to animal welfare and the diversity of human-animal interactions. The speakers are teaching staff of the first edition of the master’s degree program in Ethology & Human-Animal Interactions (#EHAI), as well as collaborators from different sectors of the HAI area, such as dog training schools and farm animals’s management.
Location: The campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Street Calea Mănăștur 3-5.
