Hedgerows and Hedgehogs / Pondering ponds
Forest School with nursery age children observing the biodiversity and importance of hedgerows and who might live their and why we need to maintain hedgerows. Then looking at hedgehogs and gathering leaves to put in a hedgehog house and introduce to to our site.
Afternoon session with Year 3 discussing pond life and why they are so crucial habitats for various wildlife from insects to small mammals. Students will then contribute to our local ecosystem conservation by creating mini ponds in forest school. We will also discover the importance of water conservation.
