High-level roundtable to celebrate 8 million signatures calling for an end to global cosmetics animal testing

Cruelty Free International and The Body Shop formally invites you to our joint event with the Permanent Mission of Guatemala to the United Nations, where we will be celebrating the success of our joint partnership which has seen over 8 million people worldwide sign our joint petition in just one year. 

On this theme, our roundtable event will include a multi-stakeholder panel with high-level guests from Governments, Members of Parliament, NGOs, the Private Sector and celebrity ambassadors. 

We will have representatives speaking on behalf of the Permanent Mission of Guatemala, Members of the British and European Parliaments, the global beauty brand The Body Shop and leading NGO Cruelty Free International. We will also be joined on the day by global globe award-winning actor Declan McDermott and Maggie Q, star of Designated Survivor and Mission Impossible III.

 A UN Grounds Pass or special events pass will be needed to attend this event.

Why:

  • To celebrate a year of partnership between Cruelty Free International, The Body Shop and citizen-consumers around the world, with people who played an active role in the campaign to date.
  • To showcase the power of over eight million citizen-consumer voices united for cruelty free beauty – an amazing example of consumers acting for responsible consumption and production  (SDG 12) and a powerful representation of consumers from all over the world speaking out with one voice on cosmetics animal testing.
  • To highlight the growing demand for a global end to cosmetics animal testing and the increasing national and regional legislative progress that is being made worldwide.
