Humane Education Programme
The issue of animal welfare is still a new phenomenon in most parts of Liberia. Animals are generally viewed by most Liberians as existing only for human needs and are treated with extreme cruelty. We will celebrate World Animal Day by educating school children about the welfare of animals. The children are our leaders of the future-educating them about animal welfare will make them begin to embrace their innate love for animals and the need to promote their welfare. The celebration will take place in five schools in Voinjama City, Lofa County. Our aim is to carry out a 3-day humane education programme involving over 1000 children commencing on 3 October. In order to implement this activity, we are seeking assistance in the form of posters, flyers and other animal welfare materia. We also want to print billboards with animal welfare messages.
