In celebration of World Animal Day 2015
The Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg were so pleased to attend the very special St Francis of Assisi service held at the Brackenhurst Methodist Church on Sunday October 4th 2015. The children very proudly showed off photographs of their pets and all had wonderful stories to share. One little boy spoke passionately about his pet geese, others about their dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies and even horses! Miriam Bezuidenhout, our Kennel Supervisor, shared wise advice with the children in the Sunday School on how best to care for their pets and how to be a responsible pet owner. The children were such a willing and attentive audience.
We loved being a small part of something so special and would like to sincerely thank Reverend Faan Myburgh, Reverend Brian Oosthuizen of the Brackenhurst Methodist Church and their wonderfully supportive congregation, for the opportunity to celebrate World Animal Day in such a meaningful way.
