Mars Pedigree/Whiskas World Animal Day Event
Within the framework of World Animal day celebrations, MARS company have campaigned throughout the supermarkets that with every purchase of a Pedigree/Whiskas product, they will offer one meal to animal shelters. The event to donate the cat and dog food to the island’s animal shelters took place on the 25th October 2016. The event was organized through Cyprus Voice for Animals and hosted at the Sirius dog shelter in Limassol. Guest speakers were the directors of Mars company, Mary Anastasi, President of Cyprus Voice for Animals, Stella Stylianou World Animal Day Ambassador and other representatives of animal shelters, members of CVA.
The donated food which amounted to 7500 kg (5600kg cat food and 1900kg dog food) was handed over by MARS to CVA to divide to the shelters according to their needs. Parallel to the aforementioned, MARS have offered to donate one month’s food supply to each family adopting from a shelter.
