Mobile animal clinics
A mobile clinic was held in one of the key public areas of Pokhara. This intersection is where tourists and trekkers are in close contact with residents of the town.
The clinic was held on 24th and 25th Sept in advance of World Animal Day because from 27th Sept Nepal celebrates the seven day festival of Dashain and the country as a whole is on holiday. During the clinic 24 dogs were neutered and a few treated for minor problems though most were in good condition.
On 26th Sept HART carried out anti rabies vaccinations in the newly amalgamated town of Lekhnath. Ward 33 of the town was targetted and 96 dogs were vaccinated and 8 treated for wounds and skin problems.
In order to further mark World Animal Day an “Animal Art” event will be held at various schools in Pokhara throughout October.

These events remind the communities in which HART works that their animals deserve and need care and attention. In return for this effort they are rewarding and affectionate companions who improve the quality of life in their neighbourhoods.
