No Animal Left Behind: Join with us to help millions of farmed animals

We are pleased to invite you to our online event “No Animal Left Behind”, which will take place on 4 October 2021 at 2.30 – 4.00pm CEST.

2021 offers a very important window of opportunity for animal welfare in the EU: The European Commission is currently assessing the animal welfare legislation to evaluate whether it is fit for purpose. This review is part of the Farm to Fork Strategy, an initiative with the overarching aim of making European food systems fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly. The long-overdue review is the first of its kind for animal welfare legislation

During the event we will launch a report with a compilation of evidence of the unfitness of the current animal welfare legislation, using the 5 domains model as a way of analysing it. We will also highlight commercially viable production systems, demonstrating that a solid and deep revision of the EU legislation to higher animal welfare standards is an achievable, realistic and viable move. You can read more about our No Animal Left Behind campaign here.

Join us to hear from members of the EU institutions, NGOs and a lively Q&A with the farmers of these promoted systems.

Register for the event here.

Europe’s animal welfare laws were introduced piece by piece over the last 40 years, but they are rarely enforced correctly, and there are serious gaps that leave millions of animals unprotected. We must make sure a full-scale review takes place, that our demands for the best possible welfare standards are heard, and that no animal is left behind.

A review like this is rare, and we really need you with us to make it happen. We will be competing with loud and powerful industry voices who don’t want to see stricter and better enforced welfare laws for animals. We can’t let them win – and the clock is ticking…
