– TACKLING ANIMAL CRIMES TO BUILD SAFER COMMUNITIES
Mark Randell, Senior Detective and Campaign Manager at NatureWatch in the UK, will highlight the need to address animal crimes within communities, drawing on his experience in criminal motivation and collaboration to advance animal welfare globally.

– POLICE COLLABORATION FOR ANIMAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
Siobhan Chase, Sergeant at Fairfax Police Animal Division in the USA, will address the need for strong partnerships with law enforcement to support animal welfare protection, emphasizing the importance of providing agencies with training and resources to enhance collaboration for the benefit of animals and the community.

– POLICE TRAINING AS A KEY TO COMBAT ANIMAL CRUELTY
Celine Gardel, Police Captain and Founder of 4 Pattounes in France, will highlight the role of police forces’ education and training as to combat animal cruelty, emphasizing prevention, legal enforcement, and youth education to ensure lasting protection.

– ILLEGAL ANIMAL TRAFFICKING AND ABUSE, RISK INDICATORS AND LEGAL BASES
Julien Neirynck, border guard for 8 years in Switzerland, observed a 50% increase in cases of illegal trafficking and animal abuse. He will address the risk indicators and the legal bases on which law enforcement and judges can rely to effectively combat these phenomena.

– THE POLICE MONITORING UNIT ON ALL INCIDENTS INVOLVING ANIMALS
Julien Lacave, Police officer in Belgium, will outline this unit role to answer the lack of awareness of animal legislation and to improve police responses to incidents involving animals, from abuse to wildlife protection. In parallel he founded the Belgian Animal Law Enforcement Network to involve all actors.
