Protest to demand animals rights’ to be respected by the city hall
Protest to stop the illegal actions of the city council to demand more powers for Society of Control and Protection of Animals (means more powers for animals)
It is difficult to advocate for animal welfare when the city council is constantly sabotaging the process in different ways and making everything possible to destroy the animals and everybody who help them
Society of Control and Protection of Animals (SCPA) is the only public department that solves the problems of animals in Moldova (unfortunately it functions only in Chisinau)
The aim of SCPA is to create projects for pets (database) to reduce the number of stray animals (mass-sterilization), increase adoption, fight illegal breeding, educate people about a human attitude toward animals, organize webinars (as the one with Humane Society and police), to help citizens who encounter ‘issues’ with animals living beside them. SCPA has so many responsibilities and practically detain no power.
But because of some illegal thing that happened in the Council many projects related to animals were blocked and sabotaged.
So the aim of the protest was to demand from the Council to stop their disastrous crimes against animals and demand them to give more powers to SCPA, thus respect the rights of animals for a better life.
Aside from the protest, we wrote a petition with 13 demands, that we addressed to City Mayor, City council members, Parliament.
We would like also to advise everybody, whether you are making a protest always write a petition with demands.
The good news is that the mass media started to write more about animal and animal rights

After the city council, we went to parliament where the deputy of the winning party came to us and listened to us. We are happy that the new Parliament understands the importance of animals and their rights for a life free of fears and suffering.
We also organized a press conference where we announced that we are following closely everything that is happening in the city and the country, and we won’t let the local authorities neglect animals’ rights, and we are ready to fight for them at any minute.
