Quaker Concern for Animals: Day residency at Friends House

Please join us as we launch our brand new website and Autumn 2017 Newsletter. We will also have copies for sale of JOURNEYS OF COMPASSION – a compendium of Quaker witness for the world’s non-human animals, published last year in celebration of QCA’s 125th year. And we’ll have some attractive give-aways, too, friends.

QCA members will be on hand to meet with visitors throughout the day and Friends House Restaurant will feature a special vegan menu. Be sure to take advantage of some of the very best eating in Camden!

The wonderful Friends House Bookshop in central London once again hosted Quaker Concern for Animals on World Animal Day (falling in the middle of Quaker Week) with a world animal dayspecially-ordered range of animal titles for sale, plus the QAN/FWCC 2018 calendar (featuring artwork by QCA’s Newsletter Editor, Ann Johnson, focusing on marine animals).

QCA members launched our new website and sold copies of our Autumn 2017 Newsletter, handing out literature and speaking with enquirers.

We were especially pleased that Friends House Restaurant featured a special vegan menu all day.

Having an all vegan menu on World Animal day has been a great success. Lots of customers came into the restaurant expecting to have their usual meat or fish, but were willing to try the plant based meals we offered instead, saying how much they enjoyed them. The success of this should allow us to incorporate more plant based dishes on the menu.

At the Quaker Centre Bookshop we always look forward to hosting Quaker Concern for Animals every year on World Animal day 4th October. From animal rights to veganism, pets to service animals, there is so much to think and read about and many ways we can appreciate our fellow creatures.
