Raising the Bar for Nature, World Animal Day Blue Mountains
Join local poets, including Louise Wakeling and David Brooks whose latest poetry collection has been shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, followed by an Open Mic, to share poetry that inspires us all to ‘raise the bar’ for nature on World Animal Day: an international day of action for animal rights and welfare that marks its 100th birthday in 2025.
We’ll also pay tribute to the cofounder of Animal Liberation, Christine Townend, with readings of her work, and share delicious plant-based food and great company as we launch a few weeks of action for animals, including the launch of the Community Dinner Club, and culminating in our inaugural Food Security Fair at the Planetary Health Centre on Saturday 18th October.
