SASY! Spay/neuter clinic in San Jose

On October 1st SASY! and Animalitos Abandonados organized a massive low cost spay/neuter clinic in the low income neighborhood of Tejarcillos, Alajuelita in the outskirts of San Jose, Costa Rica. The area has a high population of abandoned street animals and these clinics provide urgent treatment for the animals there.  61 animals were spayed/neutered, dewormed, groomed, given medication & vitamins and some injured animals were treated and placed in new homes. The vet doing the surgeries took 4 female dogs home along with 3 puppies after seeing what deplorable shape they were in. Females in heat were spayed and even a few dogs that were hit by cars were treated and taken in by volunteers.

World Animal Day is an ideal opportunity for ‘Stop Animal Suffering Yes!’ (SASY!) to educate the people in this area while drastically improving the lives of the animals that live there.
