Stray Dog Conference 2011
The Animal Foundation Platform has a membership of over 100 Dutch organizations committed to improving the lives of stray animals around the world. Our ‘Stray Dog Conference 2011’ will take place on 24 September at Business Centre Nederland, Barbizonlaan 25, 2908 MB in Capelle aan den IJssel (near Rotterdam). It will commence at 9.00 and finish at 18.00 hours approx. The conference will bring together the many animal lovers who often volunteer help strays abroad and will provide useful information. In this way we hope to inspire the participants and encourage their great work. We invite volunteers, board members, teachers and students and anyone interested in the stray animal problem. Conference programme: 1. Opening by Yvonne Kroonenberg who is a well known Dutch writer and of the ambassadors for Animal Foundation Platform. 2. Cats: the TNR method by Lindy Poots of Foundation Stray Cats Rijnmond. 3. Legislation for transporting pets to the Netherlands by Dr MH Gerlofsma of the Food and Wares Authority. 4. Dealing with government by Robert Smith of FPCC Romania. 5. Setting up an education project by Suze Steenbergen-Andringa of Stichting Dierenopvang Bosni. 6. Animal welfare and behavior of shelter animals by Jose Haeke, animal behavior therapist. 7. The power of social media by Henk van der Duim. The cost to attend is Euros 17.50 including vegetarian lunch, coffee and tea and a drink afterwards. Each participant will also receive a big shopper full of surprises for dog and owner!
