The Kids Have Spoken: No To Fur In Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Following the recent battle of animal rights activists in Sarajevo to stop the proposed postponement of the ban on fur farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have talked to the ones to whom we are leaving this world: children. And the kids have spoken: no to fur in B&H! We want the ban to enter into force starting January 1, 2018, as intended by the ban, and not prolonged for another decade of torturing, mutilating and slaughtering animals for fur in our country, and the horrible pollution of the natural environment! Check out our educational video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGysDAaS4MM and visit the page www.facebook.com/nekrznu and support the anti fur campaign!
The official premiere of the video, as well as a commemorative gallery of the kids’ love for animals for World Animal Day will happen on Wednesday, October 4, in the hall of the elementary school “25. novembar” Velika Kladuša, where the video was taken.
We want to thank the teachers Edina, Nerma, Mevlija and Ilhana, as well as our young voices against fur farms:
Ismihana, Inea, Emina and the whole IIb class, Larina, Arianna, Danis, Dea, Din, Dalia, Merdžana, Hena, Lejla and Samuela from IVa class, and Adin, Darija, Ibro and Said from VIIIa and VIIId class!

On October 4, World Animal Day, the premiere of the educational video done by the pupils of 2nd, 4th and 8th grade was held in the public institution elementary school “25. novembar” Velika Kladuša, the topic of which was the ban of fur farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The children have clearly said: we do not want fur farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina! The 2nd grade pupils have also thought of and presented a gallery of their love towards animals, and around 11 am, teacher Ilhana Škrgić, our World Animal Day Ambassador for Bosnia and Herzegovina, gave a live interview on this topic to BH Radio 1.
In the meantime, animal rights activists were at a booth in Sarajevo on World Animal Day, where the citizens could get information on the proposed ban postponement, to which we, animal friends, are firmly against, and sign a petition which will be delivered to the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can also sign the petition online at www.facebook.com/nekrznu. Miss Maida Sabeta was also on national TV (BHT) that morning, speaking about the fur ban and what it means for animals and people in B&H.

According to the current law, the farms on which they breed, torture and murder animals for fur in Bosnia and Herzegovina should be banned starting January 1, 2018. However, the fur lobby wants to stop the ban and prolongue the period for another ten years, which is unacceptable not only from the ethical and humane perspective, but also because of the enormous pollution of natural environment in a broad diameter around fur farms. It is up to the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina to decide whether they will uphold the law and allow the ban to enter into force, and the imperative to this was given by World Animal Day ambassadors from 45 countries around the world. Ambassadors from Croatia, United States, Uganda, Romania, India and numerous other countries have given their voices in a letter addressed to the members of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which they point to the fact that the ban of fur farms in our country has to enter into force for numerous ethical moral, political and economic reasons. Thank you to all the ambassadors on their voice against fur, and thank you to everyone for celebrating World Animal Day, and continue to raise your voices against fur farms in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
