Turtle Tales, World Animal Day

Official nonprofit organisation, Kuwait Society for Animal Welfare, invites you to an illustrated talk on Kuwait’s sea turtles, followed by a fun, educational arts and crafts activity. This free event for children takes place at Contemporary Art Platform and is presented by animal welfare advocate and local photojournalist Claudia Farkas Al Rashoud, who has written extensively on sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation in Kuwait.

With World Animal Day celebrated globally on October 4th, this is the perfect time to highlight the extraordinary hawksbill and green sea turtles that frequent Kuwaiti waters to breed and nest on our islands. The children will be invited to join a discussion on what we can do to protect our sea turtles, as like all seven species of sea turtles in the world, they are unfortunately under threat from pollution, climate change, destruction of their habitat, and many other factors.
