To help celebrate National Poetry Day, the Wonky Animals Poetry Collective is launching Twenty-One Poems about Wonky Animals from Candlestick Press in an online event featuring readers from across the UK. What better way to celebrate the power of poetry than with these poems which delight in the lovable frailties of creatures great and small, ugly and beautiful?
Although the event is hosted in the UK, the online nature of the launch means that we can welcome international guests from all over the world.
There’ll be readings by members of the Collective, alongside some of the poems that were successful in our recent competition. Poets will include Sophia Argyris, Anna Barker, Kathryn Bevis, Jane Burn, Victoria Gatehouse, Tania Hershman, Linda France, Leah Larwood, Rob Miles, JLM Morton, Nora Nadjarian, Caleb Parkin, Mel Pryor, Amber Rollinson, Di Slaney, Johnnie Sparkle, Hannah Stone and Sarah Ziman.
Tickets are by donation with all proceeds going to Manor Farm Charitable Trust, a sanctuary for livestock with special needs www.manorfarmcharitabletrust.org
