Vegan picnic (World Animal Day)
This year’s World Animal Day will be marked at Bundek Park, organized by the City of Zagreb and in cooperation with Animal Friends Croatia. On Saturday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., everyone is invited to spend time together with abandoned dogs and animal protection organizations, but also to taste some great vegan food.
Visitors will be introduced to 15 animal protection organizations and will be able to find out how animals should and can be helped. Besides the stands of those organizations, there will be an information stand of the Animal Protection Network which consist of more than 50 organizations from Croatia.
Animal Friends Croatia will also organize an offer of delicious vegan food and sweets from 10 restaurants. Umbrellas will be set up with tables and benches for socializing and enjoying vegan food. A variety of educational materials and vegan cookbooks will be offered for free.
Animal Friends Croatia invites everyone to come and spend time in the shelter, to be part of this international day’s celebration to promote animal protection, and to be encouraged to fight for the animals every day of the year.

Visitors were introduced to many animal protection organizations where they could learn about adopting abandoned animals, how to take care of disabled animals and how they can help in other ways. They could also donate or buy their interesting products (t-shirts, badges, mugs, etc)
At the information stand of the Animal Protection Network and Animal Friends Croatia citizens were able to get information on animal rights and welfare and get free brochures, leaflets and vegan cookbooks.
Everyone was having fun with puppies from the shelter and by the end of the event, all three of them were adopted. Visitors could listen to children’s music choir, and enjoy vegan food and sweets.
