Reaching More Animals

Making a difference with the Mayor’s Office to reach more animals in poor areas.  On Saturday September 30, the staff and equipment will set up a M-A-S-H type clinic at an open community center to offer low-cost spay/neuter services.  The goal is to spay/neuter 1,000 animals, this will avoid a minimum of 18,000 animals to be born in the next year

712 animals were treated at the World Animal Day Spay Event with the cooperation of local authorities (Junta Comunal), the Mayor’s Office, volunteers and veterinarians.  The animals were spayed/neutered, dewormed, had their ears cleaned, sprayed against fleas and ticks and injected with vitamins.  We had one volunteer vet from Mexico and two vet techs from the United States.  We hope other overseas volunteers will join us for future spay events.
