WORLD ANIMAL DAY
The media is reporting about wars, catastrophes and even people who hit each other during a football game. And therefore we easily forget about them:
THE ANIMALS!
Living creatures who suffer from hunger, thirst, heat and cold and they feel pain-like us humans. Every year on October 14° everybody in the world is reminded that animals need our help and our protection.
The entire staff and volunteers of LEGA PRO ANIMALE made special efforts to celebrate this day: in the Centre of Castel Volturno 10 cats (7 female and 3 male) and 7 dogs (6 female and 1 male) were neutered. In the new clinic in Rocca D’Evandro another 6 cats (5 female and 1 male) and 3 female dogs were done.
Thanks to this one special day of surgeries during the next year 1590 puppies and 3732 kittens will not be born – most of them without a future, because abandoned in the streets and hit by cars or killed by diseases or still worse taken to kennels of catteries – a nightmare in Italy!
Please do not forget that most of the dogs and cats here in the south are allowed to roam freely and female dogs have 2 litters a year (with on average 5 puppies per litter) and cats up to 4 litters with 3 kitten on average. And the male animals: they can get pregnant up to 300 different female in one year. AND: after each mating a pregnancy is following!
A HEARTFUL THANKS TO EVERYBODY ALL OVER THE WORLD WHO HELP US TO STOP THE BIRTH OF THOUSANDS OF UNWANTED PUPPIES AND KITTENS. BIRTH CONTROL IS THE ONLY TOOL TO FIGHT THE STRAY PROBLEM AND ENORMOUS SUFFERING!
