2018 World Animal Day Public Campaign in Palembang (South Sumatera)

A public campaign will be held in Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra Province, the co-host of Asian Games 2018. Palembang is the oldest city in Indonesia, dating back to 682 AD.

We were the first organisation to campaign publicly for animals in Palembang, which began with three activities to highlight World Stray Animal Day: (1 street feeding and 2 public campaigns in 3 years).

This year wil be our second year campaigning World Animal Day.

Our event began at September 9, 2018, by feeding the group of monkey, around 100, which live in an abandoned stadium.

Next is radio interview by “Elshinta Station”, at September 20, 2018. The subject is: “Palembang as the role city which kind to all kind of her occupants”. It spoke about Animal Rights, something new and unfamiliar to most of the city’ occupants.

The third is silent campaign at October 4, 2018, which would take place from 09:00 to 12:00. We are only a few people but we will do our very best to draw public attention to the plight of animals in honour of World Animal Day.

We also have asked the candidate –and then elected– South Sumatera’s governor to support our fight.
