World Animal Day-4 October-Get Involved
What will you be doing to celebrate World Animal Day this year?
Get involved and do something special to mark this special day to show you care about animals!
It doesn’t matter how small or large your event is, it’s getting involved that’s important.
Visit the ‘Get Involved’ section of the website where you will find plenty of ideas to suit everyone who cares about animals. The suggestions are listed under the following categories and all can be adapted to suit your own needs and circumstances: Individuals, Workplace, Community Groups, Animal Welfare Groups, Youth Groups, Children’s Clubs and Schools.
If you work for an animal welfare organisation, it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase your work, raise public awareness of specific issues and/or fundraise. For everyone else who cares about animals, why not hold a fundraising event for an animal welfare organisation whose work you admire.
On behalf of all the living creatures in your country, I encourage you to get involved in celebrating World Animal Day 2013 by doing something special for the animals. Unite with animal advocates around the world and help heighten awareness of animal issues. This is such a wonderful opportunity to make animal welfare issues front page news around the globe-a vital catalyst for change. Increased awareness of animal issues cannot fail to lead the way to improved welfare standards throughout the globe. And what an achievement that will be!
In 2003, Naturewatch launched the World Animal Day website. This inspiring initiative has now established itself as a powerful central platform uniting the animal welfare movement around the world, embracing all animals and the unique concerns of each, in every country! We promote the day in order to encourage other organisations and individuals to get involved. It’s a day which should benefit all those who participate in celebrating animals. World Animal Day belongs to everyone!
