World Animal Day – Alexandria

World Animal Day Celebration in Alexandria 

Hosted by The British School Of Alexandria

Our event will start by 9 short awareness sessions provided by our dear vets from Alexandria and Tanta in addition to a Greek professional groomer coming to Egypt specially to join the event

sessions will include vaccinations, neutering, diet, first aid, skin infections, body language, common diseases, home safety, grooming and caring for your pets ( cats, dogs and tortoises)

all vets will provide free medical examination and treatment each on his own booth in addition to awareness booths about wildlife protection and rabies awareness campaign 

All attendees will recieve gifts for their pets such as anti-flee and deworming medications

closing the event with a cat contest and dog ccontest and the judges will choose the winners based on the care and the relation between the pet and its owner 

Hosted by the British School of Alexandria and organized by Mau Hamada 

the event started by awareness sessions provided by vets; The importance of Blood analysis by Dr Mohamed El Fiiky – spaying and neutring by Dr Salwa Refae – Skin infections by Dr Mina Dimitry – Diabetis in pets by Dr Roger Salah – Caring for tortoises by Dr Amir youssef  – Care and grooming by Mr Fanis Chilliotis greek professional groomer 

Each vet provided free medical examination to all cats and dogs at the event

in addition to Dr Salwa offering free neutring surgeries and free dental cleaning at her clinic later 

Vet4ever for veterinary supplies gave out free flea collars for all atendees

At the end of the event we organized a dog contest and a cat contest, judges chose cats and dogs accordig to the care the get and the first winners were stray rescued cat “Oreo” and a stray rescued dog “Monkey”

First place awards were provided by paws n paws pet shop

secound and third place awards were provided by Mau’s rescue and awareness

guests of honour at the event we Mrs Amina Abaza world Animal Day Ambassador who gave a speech about animal rights in Egypt, Dr Ashraf Nazem dean of faculty of Veterinary, Dr Alaa El Domiaty Alexandria Zoo director and Dr Iman Mokhaimer former zoo Director

After the event Mau’s rescue and awareness organized a grooming workshop given by Mr Fanis the professional groomer attended by pet owners and vets

there was TV and media coverage for the event
