World Animal Day Festival & Petition for Stricter Laws Against Animal Cruelty
The Animal Rights Committee of Georgia has been involved in World Animal Day celebrations since 2009. This year we are holding a festival, in conjunction with the Homeless Pets Organisation, on October 2 in Vake Park, Tbilisi City, that will focus on activities for youths and children. The event will include a concert, competitions for children and youths, distribution of ARC Georgia materials about animal welfare (leaflets, stickers, small presents for kids, balloons). We are that our event will be well attended as it has been in previous years. We are also intending to draft and obtain signatures on a Petition to the Georgian Legislative to highlight the need for stricter laws against animal cruelty and abuse. Our World Animal Day event will be a meaningful step to help raise public awareness of animal welfare issues in our country.
