World Animal Day Film Screening: Cave of the Yellow Dog
A special fundraising screening in celebration of World Animal Day-‘Cave of the Yellow Dog’. All proceeds will be donated to Animals Asia Foundation. When: Tuesday 4th October 2011 commencing at 7pm. Where: The Blue Walnut, Walnut Road, Chelston, Torquay, TQ2 6HS. Tickets £15 which includes a delicious, pre-show vegan buffet. ‘Cave of the Yellow Dog’ is a captivatingly beautiful story of nomadic family life in the endless expanse of the Mongolian landscape. While taking a walk, six-year old Nansaa finds a little black and white spotted dog in a cave along the cliffs and takes him home with her. But her father tells her to get rid of him because wild dogs attack the sheep. When her father goes to the city, Nansaa keeps the dog who becomes her trusted companion. One day she loses track of him in the tundra and, while searching for him, encounters an old nomad woman who tells her the legend of the cave of the yellow dog. Nominated for the 2005 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and winner of the Palm D’Or.
