World Animal Day Sponsored Cycle Challenge
London to Birmingham, incorporating 7 Safari & Wildlife Parks in 7 Days. Total distance 350 miles. The challenge will take place from 3rd-10th October. Beginning on October 3rd in Trafalgar Square, London, Mark Oliver Founding Trustee of PAWS Foundation and Phil Davis, Founder of Tiger Awareness, will be taking part in a marathon 7-day sponsored bike ride, raising money for their respective charities. They will be cycling from the centre of London, visiting 7 different wildlife organisations around the country over 7 days, ending up in the centre of Birmingham on the 9th October. During their trip they will be visiting at least one well known Wildlife Park or Zoo each day, looking at the vital roles the parks & zoos play in the protection of endangered species and supporting the invaluable work of each park in their efforts to safeguard the future of many highly endangered species, such as the Bengal Tiger, the White Lion and the Rhino. Every penny they raise from the ride will either be going towards helping to protect endangered wildlife in Africa through PAWS Foundation’s anti-poaching & de-snaring program, or helping to save the last remaining wild tigers, through Tiger Awareness conservation projects in India.
