Joseph Odika is the founder/director of the Animal Protection Organization of Nigeria.

Their work includes humane education campaigns in schools, environmental clean-ups, protests and symposiums. They also fight against farmed animal cruelty, promote veganism and help stray dogs and cats.

UK: It's estimated that up to 5,000 primates are kept as pets in the UK.

A law passed this week addresses keeping animals like lemurs and monkeys, unless it's to zoo-level standards - which will, in effect, ban the practice.

The law won't come into force until 6 April 2026, but it's great news for primates. 🐒
