World Animal Day Mug Competition Winner for 2024!
We are delighted to announce the winner of Naturewatch Foundation’s 2024 World Animal Day ‘Design a Mug’ competition! With over 180 fabulous entries, judging was tough. However, after careful consideration, the winning entry came from Abbas (aged 10), who had a beautiful design of a jungle scene with lions, a snake, and a crocodile. Their design was the perfect collaboration of animals to showcase our theme for this year, “The world is their home too,” and to celebrate World Animal Day.

A truly international event
With entries submitted from around the world, from Vietnam to Barbados, the competition was a truly international event. We couldn’t just pick one winner, so we also decided to have a runner-up prize for the other age categories. Congratulations to our other winners for their amazing entries – their prizes are on their way to them.
A big thank you to all the libraries
We would also like to thank all the libraries in the UK who participated; they helped us gain many of our entries. Some libraries had special World Animal Day displays, some held activity groups, and lots of flyers and competition entry forms were handed out. This year, our winning entry was actually sent in by a library on behalf of the child!
