World Animal Day was not without its challenges this year and yet managed to break records once again!

Despite the incredibly low odds, the big day for animals coincided with social media outages across major platforms- with some sites down for seven hours. In conjunction with the ongoing challenges of a global pandemic, the World Animal Day team wondered how the event would pan out.

So you can imagine our happiness and surprise when we saw that a whopping 139 million people viewed or engaged with World Animal Day social media posts this year!

Our lovely Facebook frames and Twibbons were used five times more than those from last year, with supporters' profile pictures helping the cause to gain more support. Did you miss them? You can view them here.

We also saw more video content than ever covering World Animal Day, as well as thousands of mentions.

If you spoke up for animals on this important day - thank you!
