Educational Day for Schoolchildren + Petition Signature Drive

We will celebrate World Animal Day by focusing on the empathic ability of children. Our school-equipment REDE (Respect, Empathy, Animals, Ethics) is directed at students from six to twelve years of age with the goal of evolving children’s empathic abilities and respectful view on people and animals. On the 4th of October, REDE invites students from all over Stockholm to participate in an exciting day at Hgelby-park. The children will get to try some of REDE’s exercises, meet and learn more about animals, go on a quiz-walk and more. We are currently running a petition against slaughter without stunning. Our local branches spread all over Sweden will pay special attention to the petition on World Animal Day and collect as many signatures as possible. Our petition demands the following steps from the Swedish government: 1. That the government actively works to introduce clear labelling pn all meat from animals that have been slaughtered without stunning. The label should be obligatory for all countries within the EU. As consumers we want to be able to avoid meat from animals slaughtered without stunning. 2. Sweden will lobby for an order for current exceptions in the remaining European countries to be removed and for slaughter without stunning to entirely disappear from throughout the European Union.
