The programme will be organised by the Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on 3 and 4 October 2019 at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST) Building, UNIMAS. Talks, workshops, exhibitions, and games will be held to engage school students from invited schools and the general public from near Kuching. The theme for this year’s Open Day is Discovering Biodiversity Through Photography. We propose talks and workshops by AP Dr Azlan Jayasilan, Dr. Jongkar Grinang, Pui Yong Min and Anthony Pine on topics such as photography, camera trapping and drone photography. The language of the talks will be English.

UNIMAS Publisher, World Wide Fund for Nature-Sarawak office, Wildlife Conservation Society (Sarawak), Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Kuching), Worming Up and local entrepreneurs of goat and cow milk are invited to set up booth to exhibit and sell their latest programme and products. Exhibiting alongside IBEC, Faculty of Resource Science and Technology will also show-case their strength and outputs, in the form of posters and artwork, etc. The fun and educational science-themed games that offer skills and tips used in real research would definitely give an eye-opening experience to the visitors. All stands a chance to walk away with prizes if they win.

Entrance to all talks, workshops and games will be free and open to all students and members of the public.
